Ferric Chloride Hexahydrate is a hydrated form of iron(III) chloride containing six molecules of water of crystallization. It is widely used as a coagulant in water and wastewater treatment, as an etching agent in printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing, as a catalyst, and as a laboratory reagent. The compound is strongly hygroscopic and forms acidic solutions in water.
