Potassium Metabisulphite is a white to slightly yellowish crystalline powder with a characteristic sulfur dioxide (SO₂) odor. It is widely used as an antioxidant, preservative, disinfectant, and reducing agent in pharmaceutical, food, beverage, and chemical industries. On contact with acids or moisture, it releases sulfur dioxide.
