EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) is a white, odorless crystalline powder widely used as a chelating agent. It has a melting point of ~250 °C (decomposes), a boiling point estimate of ~434 °C, a molecular formula of C₁₀H₁₆N₂O₈, a molar mass of ~292.24 g/mol, and a CAS number of 60-00-4. It is slightly soluble in water, has a pH ~2.5 (10 g/L solution), density ~1.46 g/cm³, purity 98–100%, and a shelf life of ~60 months
