Copper(I) chloride is an inorganic copper halide in the +1 oxidation state. It is a white to off-white crystalline powder that darkens on exposure to air due to oxidation to copper(II) compounds. It is widely used as a catalyst, reagent in organic synthesis, and as an intermediate in the manufacture of other copper salts.
