Description

Cadmium nitrate appears as white to colorless crystalline powder or crystals. It is odorless, highly soluble in water, and soluble in alcohol. The compound is hygroscopic and readily absorbs moisture from the air. On heating, it decomposes, releasing nitrogen oxides rather than boiling.
